In the presentation, Mr. Joe Byrne conveyed a lot of life and business lessons I can use in my own pursuit of success. Sometimes, we think we know what to do when we are already there in the real world, but only a few people get the chance to actually live their life mottos. After the presentation, I believe that one of them is Mr. Byrne.

His path towards where is now could not foreshadow what his life would be. But through his strong convictions and philosophies, he was able to reach the top of the long ladder of career. I was struck most by the fact that he wanted to make money..and still like making money. I realized that this is something businessmen should really have, the hunger to gain, gain, and gain. However, his love for his family also balanced his personal life apart from his preoccupation in the business. I admire the fact that he is able to balance his time for his family and for his passion.

In the business sense, I have learned a lot from him. I agree with what he said that treating clients well is very important in business. I remembered a concept called social entrepreneurship, which ensures profit to the businessman while being able to give quality serviceproduct to the clients. In this way, there is a win-win situation. I have learned from this, too, the power of word of mouth as a marketing strategy. Treating clients well means ensuring their trust and reliance on your serviceproduct, and hence sharing it to others. I learned that this is a big help in making the business grow. Furthermore, I agree with him that hiring good people should be an SOP. Since growing business means needing more human resources, it obviously important to hire the best people in the field. Lastly, my most favorite concept I got from him is never forget what made you successful. Most people lose everything they have strived for because of forgetting this lesson. I agree that it is necessary to look back to maintain what is at present.

With all of these lessons and philosophies Mr. Byrnes have, I know he will always be a successful and balanced man  respected and admired, as much as I do.
